This is the method my husband uses in the pharmacy...he says it works every time... Tip the jar upside down while holding the jar in your hand and tapping lightly on the bottom of the jar with the butt of your opposite hand 4-5 times.  Continue to let the jar set upside down on the counter for 4-5 minutes.  This will allow the fluid inside the jar to disolve the dried residue of the fluid that has caused the lid to stick.  Then use a dampened wash cloth or a rubber lid remover to unscrew the lid. When I called about this they reassured me that they would take care of any problems that occured, but still did not provide me anything in writing. Fortunately, we have not had any problems that needed addressed, but this does make me question the business practices of this company. I would avoid using a plastic container with your distiller even if it’s considered ’safe’ plastic. From what I hear plastic should not be used with hot liquids. I got the Love Model 3 Distiller for my daughter in college. She has been using it for almost a year now without any problems. It appears to be a very similar model to the one you were looking at, except that the Model 3 Distiller has a glass container. According to my daughter the glass is easily broken...that’s one problem she DID have. On a personal note, I know that this article is not exaggerating the potential adverse side effects related to imaging tests. My dad ended up on dialysis following a CT Scan. The doctors told him that his kidneys were damaged as a result of the contrast agent used for the CT Scan and they did not know if he would ever get off of dialysis. My dad had no previous history of kidney disease prior to this event. Fortunately, his kidneys did eventially recover (at least partially) and he was able to discontinue dialysis.
