Just wanted to tell you sound so relaxed about your dog, I am sure that he even has become more relaxed.
Indeed training is a big help, the dog needs it too, it makes him secure when he understands you and has guidance. It is a pack animal and used to being led or being the leader of a pack. In our human world we are are his pack.

I have not read your blog yet, but I know it is there. I already told my husband when we get a new puppy (our dog is old) I am going to feed it differently.
