Well, I had to respond to this because this is what happened to us or my fiance. He company had a lottery pool, and they won. Long story short if I'm not mistaken everyone from the pool, has either lost most of their possesions, due to repoes and are in debt etc. As with us, we bought a home and a car, gave family money, and he bought his mother a home and his brother a car. Then after that he decided he wanted to try and open a business which we did, but closed within months due to or lack of knowhow. And through all this we were constantly "loaning" out money to family members, and now we're basically broke living paycheck to paycheck. My fiance ended up filing for chapter 13, and we are basically struggling to make it. It sucks, he insisted on being in control of the finances and as a result we are dead broke. So, now we're barely scraping by, but the family members that we so generously helped out are all doing well. I continued working throughout the whole thing, because I always had the feeling in the back of my head that it would fall apart which it did. So theres another story to add to the list, not to mention his co workers who ended up worse than we did, we still have our home and vehicle.
