"Myth No. 5: It used to be easier
Statistics show an increase in the number of millionaires in the world every year. Talking about the "good old times" only offers comfort and a convenient excuse. If you look around, you'll see there are people who behaved the same way in the "good old times" as they do now, yet their success has been recent. With technology and progress come new ideas, desires and needs and there are more business opportunities appearing daily to serve them."
No, it was easier in the old days.
The generations born in the 1910s to 1940s had many more opportunites. The amount of millionaires today is greater, but the number of poor is much greater. it is becoming elitist, and you can get into that class perhaps, but most people will not.
Those ages had easier time getting educated for a school teacher position, which paid just enough nut allowed some investments. Personal investments in that time grew much bigger than they do now - $1000 in stocks, or even life insurance, paid out lots mor ehtan they do today.
Even in the 1960's, I could work in summers and put myself through university myself. Now, that is impossible. you can barley work and live, much lewss save money for school.
Its all designed for the debt loading. We all have debt - is that because THINGS ARE EASIER NOW?
!no, its due to the fact that we are encouraged, often quietly forced, to take on debt these days because that is good for the elites, who get the interest payments and have that measure of control over you.
Karlin.
