I read this posting with agreat deal of interest. I was originally diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome, which was being caused by my obsessive ruminating on the function and health of my bowels. then one day oput of the blue, i thought what if all the physical symptoms i was having- at the time iwas getting unpleasant sensations in my rectum- would result in me smelling of excrement. I have never had it absolutely confirmed that this is happening, but i beleive it is and that the mechanism is simple- the opening of anal sphincter, this allows gases to esacape into the room or wherever you are. i beleive that this problem could be solved mechanically, using some form of electrode to ensure that the anal sphincter is always closed by applying a small current which will stimulate the muscle to contract. any thoughts on this?
