Somebody, anybody, please, take a whack at either of these stories and do tell by whatever means you can muster how or why I or anyone should care about whatever it was that MSM had imagined was the worth in printing/broadcasting these poor excuses of news stories. Did it happen to be that yesterday (Friday) was the slowest, worst-ever day for conjuring up Iraq war news? There does not seem to be much other even partly-baked rationale for how or why it was that MSM found themselves of the mind that it was worthy to waste ink and electrons on rogue skivvies found at G'tmo, coupled with top general acknowledging "early on mistakes in strategy in Iraq".
This is the same G'tmo that MSM is nattering on about, isn't it? This is the same Iraq, isn't it? Has Hitchcock come back to life masquerading as an exceptionally derranged (even by his standards) mentally-handicapped beat AP headline writer? Did somebody change the theater of ops or the names therein to protect the guilty while nobody else was looking? Last time we heard or saw, inmates at G'tmo were essentially defenseless, held captive in a tropical 3rd-world island insular possession of U.S.G. Inc., at a gulag therein surrounded by chain-links, barbed-wire, ocean, and guns, lots of guns, while naked, face-down, with the jackboot of some GI-Joe ninja planted squarely on his back and same or similar with a probe, electrode, member or other toy implement rammed up said inmates rectum and or other orifice. They call this interegation, in the interest of national security. It's effectively been a gang of bully-boy teenagers bereft of adult supervision getting their jollies by having their way with infants "just boys being boys having some fun", and they call this spreading democracy, to keep it safe for the world, you see? G'tmo and the war of terror it's been riding on for over 4 years now stopped being about legitimate quality news out of G'tmo within the day that place first made MSM headlines news. Any sane, humane, caring person realized that whatever goes on in the name of America in G'tmo stopped being anything to do with legitimate-quality news nearly 4 years ago. Any sane, humane, caring person knows that there is only one sort of good news capable of coming by way of G'tmo; the day it is announced G'tmo has been closed, the inmates released, and those who have been harboring them AS WELL AS those who have been managing that theater lo these past 4 years have either taken their own lives or have been incarcerated in prisons to serve life terms with no chance of parole.
Meanwhile, on even the most ideal, very best imaginable ever day for Bush junior, the neocons & supremes he rode in on and the liberals he continues to ride rough'shod over along, and we the people too, riding madly all the way up onse side of the Constitution and down the other side of the entire wretched administration down to it's every last hair of every last department, agency, office, office-holder, staffer & correspondant within the Federal U.S.G. Inc, under the most glowing circumstance conceivable given with all of THAT, the world has known why America claimed to be invading Iraq; to oust the "turrible dictator" sponsoring turrorists who, allegedly, was executed months ago, root out WMDs that allegedly have yet to be found anywhere to speak of except mainland U.S.A., "liberate" Iraqis (sic), and, of course, while we're at it, kindle the profits of MIC profiteering, pump some oil, perpetually manufacture terrorist villains, and finally, reshape another huge tract of the Earth's landscape, politically speaking. At best, the world has known that much about why, but for nearly 4 years, nobody in the world - neither spectator nor perpetrators, including Bush junior and his entire bleepin complicit Federal U.S.G. Inc. has known/stated or even been capable of stating what they planned or intended to do once they got their and began the invasion.... apparently they can't or won't tell because it's a matter of national security and to do so would violate those interests... so, anyone who has not already fallen asleep at the war can keep on a guessing. Meanwhile, top military general acknowledges mistakes having been made in Iraq strategery. You don't say? Does anyone wonder if top military wonk's are capable of considering that THE mistake was showing up to invade? Is anyone surprised that this top military man clings to the mantra that mistakes or no, it was nonetheless a good thing to do, the right thing to do. How can a person, any person, with a scintilla of functioning gray matter claim mistakes in strategy when no strategy has been evident during any point in the entire bloody procession? Indescriminately killing people is not a strategy, it's a mental impairment. I honestly do not know who it was that was hung in the name of Hussein several months ago, but for sake of argument, I'm willing to concede that, publicly speaking, Hussein is no longer a factor, so as far as that goes, lets all pretend it WAS Hussein hung; we're still there, in Iraq, invading. Was our war machine possibly made by Mattel in China and the problem really is, nobody can find the off switch....possibly because in the interest of reducing manufacturing costs, no off switch was desgined into the current model? Aside from some great press, WMDs have not at any point been a visible factor other than those currently deployed in and around mainland U.S.A. W himself proclaimed mission accomplished at the 6-week mark. Meanwhile, we're still there, we're still invading, and just between you, me and the lamp post, if we continue to liberate Iraqis at the present level, there soon won't be many if any left standing alive. Isn't it sort of implied that at some point, "alive" kinda goes well with "liberate", or is it okay to liberate them dead, all of them? Again, we the people have been somewhat kept apprised, in a half-assed fashion, the why of invading Iraq, but I'll be darned if I have ever once heard or seen written anyone's legitimate characterization and explanation of what, exactly, was the strategy to begin with, what did they intend to do once they got there and started in ernest with the invading? What strategy? I mean, yeah, sure, you provoke an unjust war, you show up with all your well-armed tax-sposnored mercenaries, the basic strategy is, kill all the bad guys. However many many supposed good guys "collaterals".... "friendlies" must be incurred in the process, you want to kill all that bad guys, at whatever cost is required to make that happen, but then you go home, right? What strategy? Can anyone please identify a strategy, any strategy, a morsel of sensible, genuine, legitimate strategy beyond "kill people" known to be publicly on the table at any point the past 4 years for which any person - officer / politician / or accomplace, subsequently has a leg to stand on and proclaim "mistakes were made in that strategy, but......"; anyone?
