Yes, it IS frustrating! That is why at some point, you just need to go with what feels right to you. If you read something that makes sense to you - give it a try. If you get good results from something, keep that in your arsenal. Even the so-called candida experts do not agree on anything. The truth is, people will promote what worked for them, what they read, or what their doctor told them, and they will hold onto it as "the only truth", and they tend to get possesive of their particular gurus. It is well-intentioned - folks are just trying to help, and there is a sense that, if it is true for me, it must be the only right answer for everyone. And it does not help that equally qualified experts are also all over the map. So, imho, there is no way to determine if X method is absolutely right or X info is absolutely right. Add in that we are all different, sick for different reasons and at different levels of illness, and you can see why the confusion. One other thing about the kraut, and it goes along with a post Remi recently made, and that is that when I first tried fermented foods a few years ago, I had so many food allergies and one was to fermented foods, that it did nto work for me then. You really do not want to eat something even if it is supposed to be the best thing in the world to heal candida if it causes you personal allergic grief. You will not get better by forcing your body to eat a food it is sensitive to. But, after achieving a certaion degree of heatlh, and now having barely any allergies to foods, I tried the kraut, and it worked for me this time with no reactions. So much of this is feeling one's way along.
We here only have our experiences to guide us. Stannarad for example has done miraculously on the kraut. She was sooooo sick, and now she is practically a jock! She went from so much worse than me to so much better then me, so I was inspired to try the kraut and it has helped. There were others (several over on Healthy Awareness forum) who did equally well, going from death's door to wellness via the kraut, and it sure is making a huge difference in my own life. Does it implant? I don't know but I tell you what - it sure is doing something lasting. Same with the enteric pills. Do they survive to intestine? Some experts say yes, others say no. I just know that it helped me when I switched to one that was enteric coated, so of course I will suggest to people that they try it since it worked for me.
Re: the colonics, I cannot say for sure but the generally accepted concensus is that they will destroy good flora. A colonic clinic that does not offer re-implantation "may?" have a vested interest in saying your flora will not be destroyed by their colonic - I dunno. But, you can (in my experience anyway), make up for it with a good oral probie or the kraut.
Hope that helps some.
