I always (long before now) considered it his sense of humor. From one perspective, perhaps considered distasteful or hurtful, from another - the outcome/end result of restrained frustration by what he considers attack or complete nonsense from another.

Ya' think? I've observed V correcting himself, admitting to not knowing something when he does not, admitting wrong. I don't recall any other member who has posted as much retraction or apology.
