Hi:
Molds and fungi are different but are classified within the same family. Molds, by evidence of the micrograph, CAN exists in blood. A good microscope CAN identify mold organisms within the blood that don't get eaten up by neutrophils, as you've stated.
"candida is a yeast with fungal phenotypes"
Shroom, perhaps you can please tell us your definitions of both fungi and molds? Then we'll take it from there.
