Well, candida is a yeast with fungal phenotypes. This can be observed in blood, but mold is like a plant, which has certain requirements to grow--like air. I have seen complex fungi grow before my eyes under the scope, and there is a bee-hive of activity easily seen. I think the observer would have witnessed some activity if it were a strange type of mold. It is however, a foreign object for sure. Shroom
