T - "all of the symptoms reported on our forum are also reported to the family practice doctors involved with the study. they HAVE labs. they HAVE tested and find that bromine is most often the culprit for the symptoms. protocols have been established which help mitigate or eliminate these symptoms."
Are they "reported" complete with daily urinalysis and all other samples that may be needed on all those in the forum on the protocol or just a very select few? Can this be stated in absolution for/in every case?
In addition, you are aware that bromine detox can be initiated with salt alone. The purpose of the iodine, IF deficient, is to fill in where it should be in the absence of the other halide. Keep in mind as well that these lab tests the doctors "have" done and such are being approached with a sort of "tunnel" vision; it is their life's work at the moment. Probably little information exists on each individual patient's cleansing history, diet, lifestyle, environmental exposures, family history, etc. which all play as critical factors.
T - "protocols have been established which help mitigate or eliminate these symptoms."
My point when I stated that a doctor will prescribe another prescription to mask a symptom caused by another drug. If detox symptoms are unbearable, the best course of action to take is to back off... not try to mask the detox through another protocol. Then, if needed/warranted cycle in again once the body has again stabilized.
T - "one trend we have noticed is that those who have the most problems with Iodine supplementation are those who have been on some pharma or OTC drug for a period of time. these people, beknownst to them or not, have altered their chemistry. the fluoridated drugs such as ssri's seem to be the worse."
This is a very interesting note and should be prominently stated and restated with the understanding that supplementing Iodine at these levels is going to "alter ones chemistry" as well. Whether that is for the better or not most likely depends on the individual and the degree of "altered" state they have been/are in. If the body is dependent on, and able to function with the "offending" toxin, displacing it could cause a more threatening state than leaving it alone in the first place. You and I both know we can alter our own genetics through how/where we live/work and the food and water we eat and drink. Unfortunately, we are (who knows) six/seven generations deep in adapting to all of these "toxins" to one degree or another.
T - "name me one adverse reaction from Iodine that can not also be found on a standard list of symptoms of poisoning by the target substances - mercury, fluoride, bromide, lead, cadmium, aluminum."
My point exactly, and where the problem of supplementing iodine blindly lies. How does one know the symptom is "toxin" caused and not the iodine? Will a "test" prove this conclusively?
You and I know that for the same nutrient, deficiency and toxicity symptoms can be similar or identical to each other.
Higher excretion in urine of this or that does not necessarily mean a down the road benefit for the patient; especially if the patient has developed a mutation/genetic adaptation to running on the other halide/metal/toxin. Shocking the system with iodine before the body has a chance to adapt to it may be too much for most people. I suspect these cases would be better off cycling lower doses than hitting it hard and spending a significant amount of time recovering from the protocol itself. This would give the body a much better chance by slowly coming back into adaptive genetic alignment.
Quite honestly, those people who have been able to "mutate" and function somewhat normally on a toxin may have a better chance at survival in today's world than another who has not/can not mutate or adapt.
High dosing indefinitely on ANYTHING is going to cause a condition where the body will go through withdrawals when cut off due to the "chemical" altering of its "normal" state.
I am sure you have read this...
