All enemas ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL. The ones you buy in the drug store may be pure saline, may have a mild soap (tends to irritate the bowl very very slightly to enhance the movement and churning of feces (breaks up impactions), and some may contain Glycerol (an oil) to lubricate the bowl.
If you were to buy an enema bag.. IT IS MUCH MORE versital. You can use is for Enemas, Douches, a hot water bottle (to place on your liver, belly, sore joint, etc).. OR.. as we have all seen in the cartoons, filled with ICE for that MORNING AFTER headache from drinking too much.. hehe.
Further, you have much more control with an enema bag then with the store bought (you only get a pint I think) over WHAT and HOW MUCH you infuse. There are a number of 'concoctions' or solutions you can infuse (herbs, coffee, etc).. and like I said above, some vinager for a douche. YOU CANT DO THAT WITH A FLEET OR STORE BOUGHT ENEMA.
The only benefit I see with 'store bought' is that 'they are clean'(meaning that the ingredience and the tube are sterile.
With an enema, hose, catheter, etc. most just 'hang them up to dry... hence, may be prone to grow some mold or become contaminated before their next use. Obviously there is a simple solution.. just make sure you clean out the bag, tubing and catheter with a little peroxide (be sure to flush all H2O2 (Hydrogen-Peroxid) out to prevent 'burning' (expecially if your going to use vaginally)before you use it again.
Bottom line: BUY AN ENEMA BAG.. most will 'last forever'.. you can pass it on to your grandkids.. hehe
