Yes, I believe without a doubt (because I also see it happening today) that the TEXT (words) used in scripture have been changed, but the actual Godly message that God intended us to have is still fully available from scripture. The text doesn't contain the COMPLETE message that God wants us to have (never did, Hebrews 6:1,"...ELEMENTARY doctrine...", apparently this word never meant anything to anybody all throughout history). So many things like this in the bible have been amazingly ignored because humanity's agenda was "scholarly ego" and fame, avoidance of one's own conscience and the ability to continue doing whatever they feel like (as a manner of speaking, The Lord refers to this as "peace" in Luke 12:51, "Do you think that I have come to bring peace on earth? NO, I tell you, but rather DIVISION" (as a sword would divide) referring to the "sword of the spirit", Ephesians 6:17, WHICH IS "THE" WORD OF GOD (this is the word that we should live by because it is what God SPEAKS if we are really intent on hearing, Matthew 4:4). Scripture is "one" of the words of God (called the word of TRUTH, Ephesians 1:13, 2 Timothy 2:15), there are only 2, and scripture is introductory and indispensable.

These are just a few of the things that humanity has always chosen to disregard as "meaningless" and just reads right over them because these verses are INCONVENIENT and wouldn't allow them in their conscience to continue doing whatever they want (war, hatred/ego, schemes/head games, etc.). It's hardly ever intentional, it's "subconsciously" psychological (human nature, the "flesh").

All Christians would claim to "live by the spirit" [of LOVE] but will proudly tell you that they "walk by faith", but The Lord says that if you live by the spirit, then you should also WALK BY THE SPIRIT (Galatians 5:25).

There always have been many who were really sincere, but they (as you said) got the majority of their sense from those who were "not so sincere" (the blind leading the blind) because those "really sincere" let it happen (carelessness matters), but The Lord knows everybody's heart, He is the final judge, not us (Thank God for that).

The earth might be millions of years old and might have once been the size of a potato (I imagine it got a little bigger before the dinosaurs came along). It might have been only 50 miles in diameter when Noah built the Ark (could you imagine Noah going to China to pick up 2 panda bear, or Africa for 2 rhinoceros and hippopotamus?). All I know is that the one who saves souls says that if we really love Him, we will also learn to love and show appreciation to His Father and truly care about our fellow human being. Well, I always cared about my fellow human being and I also wanted to know where we all came from so I could pay homage and give thanks,..AND live with Him forever,,,,,,,,,so,...

THE LORD fulfilled my wish.
