this is probably the most important stuff i have heard so far. it pretty much follows the instinctual protocol highonwater followed. here it is:

thyroid hormone supplementation inhibits the uptake of iodine. in fact, those who have been on thyroxin for a while will show negligible amounts of Iodine in their thyroid.

thyroid hormone depletes Iodine in the thyroid. this is so important to understand. not only is Iodine supplemetation patient driven in that the doctors dont know exactly how much one needs because only the patient can tell, so too with those on thyroid hormone. the minute they start becoming hyperthyroid, they should automatically cut back the thyroid med in half and then stop it altogether when they reach the next level. only they can tell and, when the sign appears, the time is now, not in two weeks at your next appointment. to me, this is carte blanche to take over your treatment if you so desire and have at it. this is how it works in a clinical setting with a doc.

dr flechas further explained that if a doc tests for tsh and levels are up due to iodine supplementation, he might read that as becoming hypothyroid and prescribe thyroxin. this would in turn inhibit iodine uptake. this has to be anticipated and not misdiagnosed. i suggest just using these docs and taking what they have found and putting it into practice. i am.
