I just started using L-Ornithine to sleep a few days ago, and it does help me fall asleep. I read about it in Hulda Clark s book, "A Cure for all Diseases." She says to try 2 capsules at first, if that doesn't work try 4 capsules the next night and if that doesn't work try 6 capsules. I have tried 2, 4 and 6. I always fall asleep fairly easily, but wake up several times during the night. I wake up mainly because I have joint pain in my left leg, kind of at the place where your upper thigh meets your torso. I just had an x-ray done of that area and nothing conclusive shows up. I have an appt. w/a lumbar specialist/orthopedic doc soon. I don't have any pain there while walking or in my waking hours, I only wake up w/pain there at night. Sometimes it's so painful I have trouble getting comfortable. I do fall asleep fairly quickly after waking up though, with the L-Ornithine, I bought mine in a nutrition/health food store. Before that I took Tylenol Pm or Advil PM, but would rather take a herb than all that ibuprofen. I do remember some of my dreams, I don't usually have nightmares. Alcohol will make me fall asleep quickly,but always makes me wake up and then I really have trouble falling back asleep. I may have been bit by a tick when I lived in Indonesia many years ago, I had the classic "bulls eye rash." on my inner thigh, on the same side as I have the leg pain at night. I have never been tested for it though. I often feel fatigued and work full time, and often have to take a nap when I get home from work and on weekends, as I never feel as rested as I think I should. I think it's the constant waking up every night, by the end of the week I feel as if I have lost a full night's sleep. I really empathize w/anyone who has sleep issues....
