Irish, please for your own health, forget the doctor (they will just prescribe things like heavy duty Nexium, et al), do a Liver Flush and a colon cleanse.
You can do this with a cheap box of Epsom Salts . One grapefruit and some olive oil. You can also use the Epsom Salts to do a colon cleanse. It's also a superb bath soak for extra magnesium.
My husband and I had terrible reflux for years. We ate tons of Tagamet until I found natural healing. One liver flush, and one Colon Cleanse was the beginning of the end of all those years of acid. I swear to you, it's saved our lives.
At the same time we totally gave up coffee. I think that coffee was making us terribly acidic. It's so hard on the system.
Seriously, the best thing you can do is clean out before you go to a doctor. They are easy to do. Don't let any dramas dissuade you from the liver flush, it's a major flush, but so amazing how well you will feel even after your first.
A pinch of Epsom Salts can be added to a glass of water on a daily basis for a good colon cleanse. Go to the Bowel Cleanse Forum and check out their suggestions. I personally take Oxypowder . I make sure I always have some in the house, but am doing so well digestion-wise, I don't have to take it that much anymore.
You can cleanse your kidneys with steeped parsley as a tea, or eat as much Watermelon as you can in a week. Better yet, juice it if you can.
These things can be done inexpensively. Remember, cleanse the body first. It's the primary step to the path towards good health.
Good luck.
Molly
