Yeah, as time moves forward, we may find ourselves
in a time when ingredients are suppressed so much
and it could be a crime to share what the benefits
of whole foods are...heck it may be that what is
coming is genetically engineered EVERYTHING. I do
look at what people spend their money on and feel
like screaming to the heavens, how can you allow
this to be. Our choices in the past allowed us to
be where we are. Our choices now will bring us the
future we deserve and will find us places we cannot
imagine...
One thing I remember when I reflect on the future
is a conversation with my dear sweet mother-in-law
and she was sharing the impact she felt growing up
in the mountains where there was no phone and how
they communicated and how they entertained themselves.
They were a family of musically talented folk so on
Sunday the furniture and carpet was moved outside
and they would play music and dance on the lawn.
She described how it felt to live in a time when,
as a girl, she rode horseback with her sisters to
the one room school, and people got together to harvest,
and the doctor was "hollared" for, and the elders knew
how to cure and tend to the sick with herbs. She lived
into a time when man walked on the moon and the space
shuttle took trips into outer space like it was no
big deal. I admired her so much for her ability to
adapt and accept the good of the future while still
preserving the past and the treasure of knowledge that
her elders passed to her and she shared with us.
Now, it seems there is a big disconnect. Instead of
working to uplift humanity, profit and greed have
motivated man to suppress and degrade humans with
lack of essential knowledge and materials of life.
I think 1 in 4 people globally live in constant hunger.
It is not that we cannot feed the people of the planet,
we choose not to. We have also chosen to bring people
far from the self-sufficiency of our elders. People
like me who remember, we are thinking to the future
and self-schooling ourselves in herbs and healing
methods which have been passed down, while we can.
Those who have ears and eyes to look for and learn
will be the ones to carry that knowledge in an oral
tradition as we have already seen where government
will control the amount and the way alternative (old)
(less profitable) methods of healing are allowed to
be shared. If the future brings laws which outlaw
growing and using herbs, we will be the last to know
of such things, and that is such a shame...
I try to imagine sometimes how big the leap will be
from my perspective when as a child I walked to school
and now, it would not be safe to allow a child to walk
unprotected the distance I walked. The foods I ate as
a child were more nutritious and were not imported or
genetically modified. I try to imagine what the next
50 years may bring and how politics and policy and
power welding will affect the quality of my life and
my choices, and those of my grandchildren, and great
grandchildren.
I doubt I can imagine, much as my mother-in-law said
she could not have imagined the advancement.
There are hundreds of Science fiction and futuristic
movies which give us a glimpse into the minds of humans
relative to the future. Idiocracy came the closest to
realistically portraying where we seem to be headed.

Others like the Matrix and Minority Report and I,Robot
are darker, but also just as relative to the surreal
way our involement on the planet is exponentially unfolding.
Also, as an adult, it was easy to see how our "past"
was not what we thought it was. Likewise, our reality
of these times and our future are not what we think
they are. Heck, under the cloak of secrecy, there is no
telling what Monsanto has been cooking up for us. I
often doubt anyone knows the whole truth even concerning
all the deception and obfuscation. The reality is there
is no one who is not contaminated anymore. If the trend
is to hide this fact instead of raising awareness and
working to find ways to bring people and the planet back
into balance, well perhaps, this is the endgame. Even if
it takes another thousand years, we are still destined
to be a blink in time.
We can do better and hopefully there will be enough of us
with the will to steer ourselves in a direction which will
allow us to leave earth better off for us being here.
There is an old Indian adage I like~~
"Call on God, but steer away from the rocks"...
blessings,
Zoe
