I tell you, this is the truth. I had a therapy dog
whose parents were search and rescue dogs, so we
trained her to find carrots. She could find a piece
of carrot anywhere in the house or yard. She also
learned to eat lettuce from watching us munch on
leaf lettuce in the garden. I begged everyone, please
do not let her ever taste a tomato, as she would
go in the garden and munch down a line of lettuce.
We began having a daily lunch salad together.
Her bowl looked as delicious as mine but without
the dressing~!
Well, longer story short, she got sick and I had
to deny her a daily salad. She cried and begged
but I do think it is a fundamental truth that dogs
are carnivores. They can survive with a vegetarian
diet, but optimally, they are meat/protein eaters.
When I was younger, I had another dog who loved corn
on the cob. Somewhere exist pictures of her and our cat,
side by side, munching down on corn.
If you kept tossing Pepper a corn of cob when you
ate one, before long, he would be barking for more ;P
be happy, be well,
Zoe
