Absolutely, I agree with you that kindness and civility
are good habits to cultivate in a relationship.

In our family, we were always polite and my daughter
grew up in a harmonious home where we really emphasized
treating each other with respect.

Recently, I spent time with she and her fiance and I
would overhear their dialog between each other and it
was so reassuring to hear them saying please and thank
you and what can I do for you, Sweetie. It made my heart
sing that she had found someone who would treat her the
way she was treated growing up.

You are very lucky and a fine example of the fine
art of being "loving"...
