Sanct,
Forgive me, but I'm not really clear why you are going back to someone
whose judgment you think (or know) is not sound. Is there a reason to
go back to this doctor, which I missed? The doctors have their lab
result parameters that they work with, and nothing you or an N.D. is
going to show them, is going to make them rework the numbers. It's
as simple as that. I'm not saying this is right--hardly! I myself spent
roughly $20,000 of my own money, which believe me does NOT come easily
to me, over about a 20 yr. period, because I long ago gave up on what
the allopathic docs were dishing out. I tried virtually everything
under the sun (including the sun :-), a magnetic pad, a magnetic
sleeping system, tachyon beads and a belt and water, which
cost a lot of money, a water ionizer, homeopathy, all sorts of
nutritional supplements and herbs, changing my
diet, fasts, colonics...in short, everything but iodine, which I did not
start taking till last December. The magnetic pad helped, up to a point.
I was told back in '88 that my symptoms appeared to be hypothyroid, by
a very perceptive Western doc (a woman) that I used to go to, who first
told me about the Dr. Broda Barnes book, "Hypothyroid, the Undiagnosed
Illness" and she taught me to take my basal temp. She also suspected
hormonal problems (not enough progesterone to oppose estrogen). Later
I tried bio-identical hormones. I didn't have any luck with those, and
didn't want to be using them anyway. I eventually had to stop seeing
this doctor as she was no longer on my ins. panel. I also had my
amalgams removed in 87/88, over the course of about 6 mo. or so. I
tried heavy metal chelation (DMPS) which was very expensive as not much
of it was covered by my insurance, and the doctor's fee was very high.
I also flew to LA 3 times to see a world-famous fibromyalgia doc named
Dr. St. Amand. He didn't help me (but he's a hell of a nice guy!)
After the doc who told me about hypothyroid issues, my next
primary care provider told me, quite irritatedly, that there was nothing
the matter with my thyroid, after I'd had a couple of different
tests. Of course I did not believe that for a
minute, and kept on my search. I never gave up, and finally found a
wholistic chiropractor (Dr. Friedlander in the Bay Area) who had this
mini magnetic pad which he designed, adapted from a larger unit which
was used to control pain, which he used on all his patients. This helped
jump-start my energy, which was so low I had nothing left over after my
work day, even when I went to a part-time schedule (6 hrs. per day plus
my lunch hour). As I stated, this went on for decades. Gradually I got
better beginning in late 2002/early 2003, and once I discovered CZ
I made huge leaps and bounds. I thank God that a friend told me about
CZ and I started doing liver flushes, then discovered the Ask Barefoot
forum, and after that, the Iodine forum. The first Iodine I took was
detoxified, and then I got some Lugol's after I'd been on Electrodine
for 3 1/2 months or so. Sungazing helped with my depression, enormously.
I also resisted anti-depressants, and I'm sure glad I did. I think
my stubborn streak and maverick personality helped to keep me on course.
Most others might have caved to pressure. I commend you for bucking the
system and for seeking out natural healing modalities and iodine
supplementation. I'm sorry to say it, but mainstream medicine does not
work for a great many conditions, and it is not worth your while to
butt your head against that wall. No amount of protestation is going to
change it. So it's best to just accept it and move on, in a more positive
direction, even if it does mean a huge outlay of cash. It's a sorry state
of affairs, but it's for your own personal sanity.
