Well, yes and no.
I did not deliberately undertake a "diet", but because I have several disorders, I have an extremely strict diet.
Here is what I am able to eat:
cooked vegetables (I eat goitrogens only occasionally), natural bird (chick/turkey, hen), eggs, yogurt, some cheeses, raw greens of all kinds except iceburg lettuce, coffee.
I use xylitol.
I absolutely cannot eat: sugar/starches/grains/red meats or ANY food that comes in a box/package - they all have added chemicals & hidden starches. I can only eat fruit 1/2 small piece 3 x's a day.
With severe blood Sugar problems I have found that eating every few hours serves me best, and this is a complete reversal from how I used to eat.
I also did 2 other things:
I went from 2.5 grains to 3 grains because I was still feeling hypo symptoms *edited - sorry I got my grains wrong in the first post!*
and
I ended up splitting my thyroid into *FOUR* doses --
1 gr at 6 a.m.
1 gr. at 10 a.m.
1/2 gr. at 1 p.m.
1/2 gr. at 5 p.m.
Give it some time -- it did take several weeks for the new way of taking the thyroid to jump-start my metabolism and raise my body temp. You may have to up your dosage 1/2 gr. at a time every 3 weeks until you are optimal. Are you with a doctor or self-treating? Check out the yahoo natural thyroid group - they are a very informed and helpful bunch.
good luck!
