In my case no connection.
In my last flush I used a straw and I had over 500 stones pushed out. I am feeling brand new.
I actually became very fond of using the straw since when we use it there´s no strong taste of the olive oil and that is definitely a good thing
It seems to me that what counts is what goes dows(not the taste in the mouth). In my last flush I used one spoon of Epsom Salt and then 200ml of OO (Olive-Oil) plus 400ml of Grapefruit juice and the outcome was great.
