Your note is a good observation. It is also a very sensitive one that can convict 70% of the human race of feelings of inadequacy/inferiority. The mind really doesn't want to understand itself objectively, so even though it's a good observation, as far as society, it is effectively falling on deaf ears.

This has been happening since the 1960's, and society really wants to address the truth of breast implants, but not the truth that it is only feelings of inadequacy that motivate people to want them. I believe that the medical community has realized that most of society is "putty in their hands" and can be sold anything because we adopt the doctors to be gods and fathers to us.
