Hi just want to share some experience.
I tried this procedure 10 months ago. It didn't help that much, and the obvious symptom is dramatic loss of weight and feeling a bit more sleepy during daytime.
Then I went through a couple of flare-ups, and end up taking pred for half a year. My reaction to pred is not that terrible. But at a point that I decided to pick up the enema procedure again 4 weeks ago. I've been clear of any medicine and eat as much as vegatible as possible, and use vitamin E enema every night.
I am feeling that it's under control, but I still have to wait for longer to really tell for sure. The things that I didn't follow Sheldon's rules : I work out and playing sports a lot. I don't eat steamed vegitables, but I stir-fry them most of the time, I do pay attention to make them soft. An important discovery to my own case is that I found chinese wood ear helps to ease the condition very much. There are a variety of wood ears, you have to pick the one that really softens when merged with water for an hour. And you have to fried it to the point that you can hear the cracks and when you chew on them, they are kind of gluey, not crisp.
I don't eat pork, tried beef twice. No ingredients in the cooking except olive oil and Sea Salt . I eat fresh vegatables, fish plus brown rice and barley mostly.
Not sure if this is helpful. I would prefer to Sheldon's recipe if I could. But I live alone and works long hours. So, the steaming recipe would be very hard for me.
I will post back on a weekly basis.
*** 2 important things I want to make clear ***
1. Now the control I feel is better than I was taking pred and colozal. The only difference it more attention on the diet and Ve Enema.
2. Pred used to be the only med that bring it to a relapse stage. So, take pred to bring it to relapse, then try this might be a good route, think it worked for me.
3. My goal is to keep it under control for 3 months.
I currently have 1 firm BM and no visible blood at all. Slight urgency, but can hold much easier than before.
