Maybe, but from what I have seen stopping Iodine simply allows the Mercury/Lead to move back into the tissue. This keeps it out of the blood where its circulation irritates the elimination organs.

Another issue, especially with Lead is that it can lead to mild symptoms of wet Beriberi. The Lead in blood kills all B1 and can cause edema due to thiamine deficiency...
