Malabsorbtion can be that the villae in the small instines  are clogged with mucus.

Colon cleansing at this point is imperative, otherwise you are eating and literally starving.

Some of us are more sensitive to acid forming foods than others.  I'd recommend that you study and begin implementing mucusless diet.  Here's some good reading by Dr William Howard Hay:
