Iodine has mucus clearing properties. I don't think that once a week would be sufficient to make your mucus go away, in fact you don't want your mucus to go away. Mucus is the fluid of the lungs, digestive tract, etc and serves very important functions.
You want excessive mucus to go away. If it were me, dealing with candida? and I saw the mucus clearing? I'd start upping my dose, gradually.
