Best to stick with the stuff you really love, though...whatever the price you are willing to pay.
Because, someday you may tire of it. Our tastes change, and even our home may change, and things may not 'go together'. That's when you see people looking for storage space!
Sometimes collectors will pay a big price for a 'name'...thinking that guarantees them an increased return. (Guaranteed profit is quite hard to find, in most fields.)
I can think of several different things to do with excess money, than buy art...I prefer land, and some wonderful ways to preserve and use it.
