There are also stools that allow you to bring your knees up higher, but they don't get you in as good a squatting position as the platforms.

Also, diarrhea can also aggravate hemorrhoids...has that been an issue lately? If so, make sure that you apply a good layer of oil so the acidity doesn't further inflame the tissue.
