Hello,
How are you guys and gals doing? Okay I'm a 22 year old male. I live in Texas. I have had Exfoliative Cheilitis for about 6 months now and It's pretty frustrating! I don't know how exactly I got it but I did notice that I started getting it after I used the Product Abreva. I can get pretty obsesive over things and I once in awhile get cold soars. So whenever I saw like a little something in my lips I right away would put Abreva. I would place it on the spot that I would think I would get the Cold Soar and pucker my lips. I think that from so much that I would pucker my lips started to get damaged. This is basically what I have:
1. I have normal lips
2. They start getting chapped and flacky
3. I eat or drink something and the lip skin turns white and easily peals off.
4. Lips have no skin.
5. Skin starts growing again.
(Cycle repeats itself)
I have used many products and they haven't worked. What has worked so far the best to conceal the chapped lips is Vasoline. The main problem that I have with this is that when I do manage to conceal my dry lips with a product I start getting like little white dots in my lips. I'm not sure if it's saliva or just the product rubbing off. I went to a dermatologist and he said that those little white dots are just my lips trying to heal themselves. The dermatologist gave me the folowing products:
1. Triamcinolone Acetonide
2. Biotene tooth paste
The triamcinolone seems to do a good job in making the skin come out faster but the problem is that when my lips are exposed to water they peel of again so no matter how much skin grows out it will peel off! I guess the main thing I want to stop is the reaction to water! I don't know what to do!! My godfather who is a doctor recomended me this Gel called "Daktarin Oral Gel." Has anyone tried this? I read about it and it seems to be an antifungal type thing! It is used alot for yeast infections. Here are some questions that I have:
Has anyone tried Daktarin Oral Gel?
Has anyone tried Topical Tacrolimus? (I have read that this is very good)
What other recomendations do you guys have?
It is very stressful to me to have this condition! Sometimes I don't know what to think because Like I have let my loved ones know about this and they tell me that I'm just exagerating that my lips look a bi chapped but nothing major! Well I hope to heat from you guys soon!!!! God Bless!!!
