Let's make sure that we understand the actual mechanism through which the virus operates/exists. The virus is actually a snippet of DNA that incorporates into the DNA of the infected cells. To date, we have no method of extracting that snippet of DNA from a cell without killing the cell. Certainly drinking tea made from the leaves or roots of some plant is not going to accomplish that feat of genetic engineering.

600 billion cells die and are replaced in the body every day. Why would we try and save each and every infected cell?

Once the cell is infected as with any virus infection the cell is no longer a part of the body, "it becomes the virus".
