It seems like these articles against water filtering and drinking for cures are coming in thick and fast.

I suppose it makes sense. After all pure water is pretty aggressive. Still your title is far too broad to take literally. The article goes into different scenarios. 1 of which is from drinking soft drinks and another during fasting.

Soft drinks contain so many dangerous elements its not a good way of testing.

Since fasting itself on just water can be quite aggressive also, the fact that its distilled would require significant studies of people with the same health - some using distilled while the others use tap, and other use just carbon block filtered.
