Hey,
I wanted to post some sucess I have had with my alcohol problems, in the hope that someone else here could find some help, info on other possible solutions to kicking alcohol dependancy!
I was a pretty heavy drinker as a teen, but was not 'addicted' to alcohol physically, I could stop and start when ever the urge hit me. Starting approximatly 5 years ago, I developed a panic disorder, rapid HR ect. DR put me on Xanax and a beta blocker and sent me on my way (ain't that nice!) Last year I started to self medicate with wine, merlot, to be specific. By late August of '06, I was consuming at minimum 1 full bottle of wine to myself a week, then 2 a week then during my final week of drinking almost 1 bottle a night. Due to medication conflicting with the alcohol, I experienced a serious drop in blood pressure and almost seizure like symptoms. got alot of wonderful info, they started me on 'seromel'
it contains 5 HTP (5 hydroxttryptophan)GABA and L-glutamine as well as some vits.
The same feeling I had when drinking a glass of wine I achieved with the Seromel nutrients! I guess it fed my brain the nutrients I was lacking and-I swear I did not even SMELL another glass of wine or any other form of alcohol since last September!! Not even over Christmas or the 2 weddings and New Years parties I have been to!!
I stopped the Seromel a few months ago and was fine until just recently I started to get some very mild cravings but I started up on the nutrients again and that took care of it for me! Ireally hope someone here can use this info,and that it could be another option for getting over the drinking hurdle!!

I am taking Eaz Pac, (same idea as seromel) to see if I can be just as successful coming off Xanax-I'll keep you posted
