Thanks to all who responded.
Let me tell you more about my history and what I've been doing. I am 44 and have six children ranging in age from 22 to 4 who are healthy and smart (although one has Asperger Syndrome, others undiagnosed AS and some have mild ADD). I've never had a problem getting pregnant until we started trying again. The first 5 were from a previous marriage. My husband and I married six years ago and had a child pretty much right away (you might say it was an accident, although we wanted one but not yet). My husband would like more children if possible.
I kept putting off having a second one with me thinking I should improve my health a bit although there was nothing major wrong with me. My periods were getting irregular and long and I felt I was going into pre-menopause. I went on a raw milk diet(milk only) for 4 weeks. My periods got more regular. I got my Amalgams and three root-canal teeth taken out (turns out they were infected and rotten), as well as a lot of crowns put on ($$$$!). I got them removed the correct way but I think my infertility problems arose from the Amalgam removal.
I did have a spiritual experience about two ago (before I had all that dental work done) which told me the Lord wanted me to have more children. So when we did start trying after the work was done I was greatly surprised when I miscarried. After that we had a hard time conceiving and if we did conceive I would miscarry.
I tried progesterone cream (which seemed to make my cycles worse), vitex (may have helped a little but then made my cycles worse), prenatal vitamins (also had red raspberry leaf in it as well as other herbs. I've done a couple oxy-cleanses and taken hydrogen peroxide baths. I've done special breathing exercises that a woman from India taught me who was taught by a Guru. I also drank lots of water and celtic salt. I make my own bread from wheat that I grind fresh and drink raw milk, albeit not very much.
We came to a point that we stopped trying to get pregnant but didn't do anything to prevent a child from coming, although I still did track my temperature and occationally felt my cervix to tell where I was in a cycle. I stopped expecting to get pregnant and just took it for granted that I wouldn't get pregnant.
About a month ago after crying and pouring out my heart in prayer, I told myself to calm down so that I could hear the whisperings of the spirit. I then changed how I prayed and asked, "Where can I go to find ore to make tools to make this great ship that thou has commanded me to build?" (based on a scriptural story) I felt that that wording applied to my situation. Immediately something I had read about Iodine on a forum I am on came to my mind. I asked if I should be taking Iodine and my body lit up. Yes. I researched Iodine and was amazed at all it could do and how it could help my infertility. I bought some and started taking it the next day, which was 3 or 4 days after I had ovulated. Of course you know that I did get pregnant and miscarried. I was a little sad but I did want to wait a little a get the child off to a good start. I feel that iodine will help me. I know it helps my temperature to go up and I feel that that will help.
Along with the Lugol's, I am taking selenium, magnesium, Vitamin C, the no flush-niacin and salt loading.
I don't feel that I have the time to wait a long time before conceiving again, given my age. I have lots of progesterone cream and can try that after conceiving but am wary of it. I can't afford to eat all organic but I as much as I can.
Thanks again for all your help. I had to take some time before I could reply.
EDIT: My memory is poor. The pre-menopause like cycle was due to the milk diet. I was having trouble conceiving after this and before the dental work.
EDITED AGAIN: I remembered that before that milk diet I followed a raw food diet for about 2 months and it really screwed up my cycles and it was the milk diet that normalized it!
