I think you are saying Iodine may just take care of balancing out the hormones to an optimum level and progesterone deficiency may just be yet another symptom of Iodine deficiency? Good point.

What about estrogens in the environment that we cant escape though? Does Iodine protect there too and help the body rid itself of such??

How about women in peri menopause/menopause - what is your opinion on natural hormone replacement then? I sure dont want to look like a raisin as many women do when I get there ;)
