I haven't been able to read all these messages, but I do have some comments.

The property that he owns in Marina del Rey is worth a fortune. HUGE, condo projects are going up all over that street. That property is too valuable for him to be there.

When I visited the store recently, the clerks did not look happy.

Maybe he has sold his company, and the property, and is retiring?

Just a thought.
