Utter anti-intellectual claptrap.  Why is is that the ignorant always rail against their intellectual superiors. Is it because you are incapable of such deep thought? Because you are unable to reconcile seemingly conflicting ideas?  Or is it just a general distrust of things you don't understand?

Christianity has a long an rich history of deep scholarship, not necessarily as an institution .  It was the monks who, by faithfully copying ancient manuscripts kept knowledge from disappearing for all time.  Through out history monks, clergy, deacons have made important contributions not only to philosophy but also to general science, mathematics, history and much more.   From the works of Aristides, Augustine of Hippo, Cornelius Jansen, Bacon, Aquinas, to the Present work of Matthew Fox intellectuals have contributed to the way we now think about Christianity.  Even those who criticize intellectuals will use their work as support.

The Bible is not at all clear, it is deep with contradictions, rife with geographical, scientific, historical, cultural errors.  This is one of the reasons why instead of having One Christian religion, we have over Christian 4000 sect, each with their own particular slant on how the Bible should be interpreted.  For you to say that the Bible is clear indicates you read it superficially without any attempt to even think about the message.  People like you who read the Bible like a dime pulp novel fail to grasp the true meanings (yes, plural) of the Bible.
