Just wanted to point out one little thing. Many diabetics can be "perfect" their whole lives follwong every rule, and still wind up with an amputation (or worse). It is not always simple cause and effect. Just standing up for myself and other diabetics. The point of what you are saying, though, is well taken - that we need to do the best we can to stay healthy, and much of it is within our own power.
