Ok, hubby and I have been talking about getting my Mirena IUD removed, but my body took care of it for us! I had it put in 3 months ago. I had all the cruddy symptoms, weight gain, acne, headaches, back aches, and the moods! A month ago I started feeling uncomfortable, checked the strings, and they were still right where they were supposed to be. A week after that, checked the strings and they were longer. I called the doctor and they said that could happen, and that the IUD could just be adjusting. For the last three weeks I have been REALLY uncomfortable. Last night while my husband and I were in bed, it became downright painful. Afterwards, I checked the mirena and found that one gentle tug (the strings were literally right there), produced the Mirena, perfectly intact.
I have a few questions, hoping you all can help:
1. We have had it with perscription birth control. My body does not do well with added hormones in any sort of birth control, and I dont want the copper IUD. What can we do on our own?
2.What are the chances of me being pregnant now? According to the nurses line I called last night, she said it sounded like the IUD had been out of place for a while, but couldnt give me any idea of if I could be pregnant from that or if the chemicals were still in my body.
3. I have had no spotting or bleeding, but I also havent had my monthly since early May. IF Im not pregnant, how long can I expect until my body returns to normal?
4. How many other women have had this?!?
