Hi Molly: Good post.
Yeah, The rock concerts did a number on folks. Believe it or not I've never been to one. The only concert I went to was the Chuck Mangione "Friends and Love" Concert in Buffalo New York, in 1971. It was GREAT.
I got my left ear blown out in Vietnam. I like your description of it - steady, high pitch, alien transmitter sound. That's exactly what it sounds like. The old ring phones, someone please answer it.
Nerve damage to the cochlea of the inner ear is what happened. You're stuck with it. Ear candling helps a little but otherwise if you've done all you mentioned and it's still not gone - nerve damage to the cochlea is the problem. A good adjustment sometimes helps.
FYI: Chiropractic was discovered back in 1895 when Palmer adjusted Harveys neck and his hearing came back. The guy had been almost deaf for 16 years. Heard his neck pop when he fell 16 years earlier and went almost deaf. Palmer basically hit him on that lump the fall created in his neck and on the third day of doing that the guys hearing came back. Chiropractic was born.
Rock concerts, I've heard that quite often over the years. Anyway, all that high amped sound damaged the cochlea in the inner ear. Not fixable. Looks like you'll have to wait till next lifetime to get some new ears. Doc
