Thanks so much, Agathos!
My Beloved Man, dh, had his second attack of labrynthitis this winter...thirty-five years after the first.
He lay abed for thirteen hours, only moving to spit up, and to take sips of water and a light veg/herbal broth (which stopped the up-chucking); and that very carefully.
Since he had been saying for hours that he was going to do his a.m. bathroom trip, and didn't, I told him I was going to call an ambulance if he didn't, at least, pee in a jar.
Shy, he lurched to the bathroom, grabbing the walls for support.
Still, as night came, we decided to call the ambulance, for I knew I could do nothing for him, by myself. I was doubting his clarity.
Sassy lad, he seemed the healthiest client in the hospital emergency room, walking to the ambulance, and sitting up and chatting on the gurney.
There followed weeks of taking everything very slowly, highly suspicious in such an active man. He slept only on his right side, and made no sudden moves. He is 82.
Only this week, six or seven months later, do I notice him sleeping on his left side.
No, he didn't have it nearly as badly as your dear mother. How wonderful that you trust each other!
And, how wonderful that you found Humaworm!
I wish you and your family glowing good health and good fortune.
My best,
Fledgling
