Toxnomore, funny story… When you said “Part of my fear is having people find out at work and at home.” When I quit drinking, I didn’t tell anyone I was quitting. I thought it was a secret how much drank, and it would be a secret that I stopped.

Within a week everybody knew I had quit. And furthermore everybody already knew I was a heavy drinker, maybe they didn’t know exactly how much, but they knew I loved my brews.

We think nobody knows what is going on with us, but it seems the people who love us aren’t blind, they know more than we give them credit for.

The worst thing you can do at this juncture is nothing, into action my friend. Look into AA, look into any and all forms of recovery. Then ask yourself one question… And I quote from my favorite drug sodden mythical guru….

"Any path is only a path and there is no affront, to oneself or to others, in dropping it if that is what your heart tells you. Look at every path closely and deliberately. Try it as many times as you think necessary. Then ask yourself, and yourself alone, one question...Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn't it is of no use
