Hi Anna. What I mean is; certain organisms including fungi, produce these protein matrixes which are used to protect the microbes from outside environment. It is like an external sheilding. There are other factors being studied as well, and it could lead to some very important insights as to how chronic diseases manifest. I still have a lot of studying to to on the subject. Shroom
