I've recently been reading up on colors-- how each color has a particular vibration that influences our health. I'm glad to see Curezone has a forum on this and I plan to post alot of my findings here.

For starters, here's a website on how we can use color in meditation:

http://www.meditationcenter.com/healing/color.html

Where I work , the walls are greyish white (and dirty) , the floor is brown/grey and dirty carpeting and there are no windows-- with only flourescent lighting. We also only get a 30 minute lunchbreak with two 5 minute breaks during the day-- leaving not much chance to get outdoors to be around color and sunlight.

It is no wonder we are all depressed and hateful -- ready to kill each other during the Winter months when there is even less sunlight outdoors. The is also a high amount of physical illness in my workplace-- causing the owners/management to enforce penalties for calling off sick too much.

Not a good situtation to be stuck every day for 8 hours or more. What I have tried to do to rectify my personal Hell in this workplace is the following:

1- bring in some green low maintenance houseplants like philidendrom. Purifies the air and adds green color to a drab environment.

2- Bought a little bright indigo blue plastic garbage can for my desk area so I wouldnt have to look at an ugly grey/brown chipped paint metal one all day.

3- Added a colorful whimsical calendar near my computer with one or two pretty photos of some sea landscapes.

4- Will only use colorful desk accessories-- like clear assorted color push pins for the bulliten board, colorful pens in clear blue plastic cup.

5- Added a small desk lamp that takes a low -wattage bulb so that I could have an alternative to total flourescent light at my desk.

6- Make sure that even though I am bogged down with work- I do not miss my tiny alloted breaks-- to get a chance to expose myself to outdoor sunlight and colors of nature. I eat in my car --just to get sunlight. Some of my coworkers think I'm a looney toon for doing this, but I tell them "Hey, In another life, I will live in a place like Florida or California, but til then--I'll get sun however I can!"

I think that people would heal far more in hospitals if they would add more color to the rooms-- So I feel that if you have a friend or relative stuck as a patient in a hospital-- it is your duty to make sure to ask them what their favorite colors are, and to start bringing in pictures, and items with these colors into thier rooms.

Don't be surprised to see them heal faster!
