It's not uncommon, since the intestines lose muscle tone from lack of use (no food, no digestion, no intestinal contractions) and those who purge are often dehydrated, which can also lead to constipation. Also, look at the foods you do eat - sometimes people with eating disorders will only eat junk foods like suckers and hard candy when they do eat. The Sugar and lack of fibre (fruits, vegetables) can lead to constipation.
