While I do think it's nice to know people's backgrounds on curezone to some extent...especially if they are 'advising' often. I do feel it can be carried
way to far...and I'm afraid I've done that. I'm a natural born blabber mouth and
a real 'from the heart giver'...and sometimes that combination can backfire.
When I'm trying to help someone, I like to make the person feel like they're talking
to an 'old friend'...someone they can trust...and someone that will be there if
they need to talk later. AND I've even been known to tell a poster requesting information that "I" don't know the answer...but since no one else is helping them,
I'll help them research. My husband has always said that I'm the biggest sucker
for a sob story in the world...and that free loaders can see me coming a mile away.

About 1 1/2 years ago, I posted to someone right here on curezone because their post sounded so desperate. I felt so sorry for them and posted back and forth for a
couple of days. They wanted to email me personally, so I opened my email. I've
done that many times, and thought nothing of it. The next thing I knew, I was
getting emails a dozen or more times a day. This person lived within reasonable
driving distance of us and wanted to come to our home and talk to me personally
about his problems. I said I couldn't do that. He kept wanting our personal
address and phone number and I refused and told him I was sorry, but I would even
have to stop emailing because this was going too far and he was being unreasonable.
Within one hour, I received an email from him with not only 'our' physical address
and phone number, but also that of all our grown kids. Now, I hadn't mentioned the
names of the kids at all...or even that we had any. But he was a police officer,
many of you know now who that was :-) and had access to getting any info he wanted
on anyone.
Luckily, when I post back and forth helping someone, I print and file their posts
or emails in case I need to refer back to something later. So I had all these
outrageous emails that sounded like they had been sent by a psychopath...but actually had been sent by a police officer that wears a badge and carries a gun
daily. So I just emailed and told him I had them all printed and had taken them
out of the file and put them in a manilla envelope and if I received one more email
of any kind, we would be in our car and on our way to hand deliver the psychotic
emails to his supervisor. Because of other threats, I told him that his info and
copies of his emails had been given to others in case something happened to us and
several people were well aware of him and his threats. I and others still have
that info. His emails stopped immediately.

Recently, I saw someone else trying to help this person...and they also were giving
out too much personal info...so I emailed them and told them my story. Several have
tried to help him...so beware of people who say they are police officers and sound psychotic...you may open your door late one evening to someone in a ninja suite
or something. :-/

My husband was so aggrevated...he said..."don't you know if it looks like a poisonous snake...and hisses like a poisonous snake...it's probably a poisonous
SNAKE?"

But he sounded so alone and desperate..and he was the age of our kids..and being a
mom...I really wanted to help him. But I learned from that experience that some
people you just can't help no matter how hard you try.

It was just like something out of the Twilight Zone...I started out trying to help
someone that "I" felt was really in need and really needed to know someone was
there who cared...and look what I got in return.

So too much personal information??? Not a good idea! Sharing how we came to know
what we do about natural healing, etc...a very good idea. People have a right to
know if the person that is advising them really knows what they're talking about
or not. Several posters... it's easy to tell that they are educated in the field
of natural healing...others I wonder about.
I've already been too long. But I just wanted to share my feelings on too much
personal information and the bad that 'can' come from it.

Everyone have a great day. kathryn
