It appears that the Enterprise is now under attack by an alien force, which has secured itself quite well in the engineering section.

Since the disappearance of Captain Kirk, having investigated all possible options, our best choice is to begin the ship's self-destruct sequence, and beam all essential personnel to the planet below. Send the distress probes to Starfleet, and meet me down in the transporter room..
