Yes, I can see that at 11, but not 3. I have two girls never told them about 'the hole' until later years. But, it did help that they never asked until later years also. It's possible that she could have asked her mother where babies come from and mom could have said 'a hole down there'. Then she investigated. Either way, I would investigate.
