In Chinese medicine, there are dozens of laxative type herbs that are good for different constitutions. Dr. Sculze offers one laxative formula for the masses, which means that some people will have side effects, because the formula is not constitution-sensitive. In my practice, I sell his formula, because it is inexpensive for the quality and quantity. However, if someone has an adverse reaction, I will make them a custom formula, which costs a lot more. The percentage of people with adverse reactions to his formulas is small, and for those with such reactions they should see an herbalist (in my opinion, preferably one well-versed in Chinese herbs and theory, usually an acupuncturist) to custom blend formulas. However, don't give up on Schulze's formulas altogether. With his rich literature at a tiny cost, you should embrace his formulas that don't cause side effects and try to follow his cleansing procedures as best as you possibly can (perhaps with Chinese herbal substitutions for the formulas that don't react well with you). No doctor can spend that much time with you to explain all the fine details without charging you tons of money--and yet Schulze has deduced all his cleansing knowledge into low priced, easy to read literature and some video and audio material. Schulze actually disparaged Chinese medicine about 10 years ago, because of the animal products in some of its medicine, however, there are easily 500 hundred common Chinese vegan herbs that are so precious--roots, bark, leaves, flowers, etc. Okay, Schulze doesn't know everything, yet embrace what he is great at: cleansing.
