I do know that carrots and all produce for the matter, tastes nothing like it did when I was a kid. The quality of the "fresh" (and I use that term lightly) fruit and veg where I live is highly questionable. The stuff has to travel a long way on the back of a truck and is often stale and old, or ridiculously over ripe by the time we get it. It makes eating healthy really hard.
